Hooterville hosts open house

National Dog Week is Sept. 17-23 and Hooterville Pet Adoption Center (formerly Hooterville Pets Safehaus) is having an open house on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cascade Kennels in Woodinville, where dog adoptions take place every weekend.
Come and meet the Hooterville Pet Adoption Center dogs and puppies, talk to our dog adoption counselors, view the beautiful surroundings and state-of-the-art facilities, have refreshments and make a four-legged friend.
Meet "The Survivors," four adorable sharpei/pit mixes who are now six weeks old and will soon be looking for permanent loving homes.
These puppies were brought to Hooterville Pet Adoption Center when they were two days old by a woman who had rescued the mother from a homeless person as she did not want the puppies born out on the street. Unfortunately, when she contacted the man to let him know they had been born, he came and took the mother without the puppies.
They were bottle fed immediately but four out of the eight did not survive. The remaining four have gone through battles with intestinal distress, dehydration, emergency visits to the vet, having to be force fed. But now, thanks to the love and vigilance of Tammy Klinch and Patrice Havelka (who have been bottle feeding every four hours) they are well and acting like regular puppies.
Hootervill Pet Adoption Center is a no-kill animal shelter and we are committed to finding loving homes for cats and dogs, even those with disabilities, no matter how long it takes.
Cascade Kennels is located near the Woodinville-Duvall Road at 20004 178th Ave NE.
