Race-day fund raiser
Longtime Woodinville resident Brian Orton co-founded the NephCure Foundation two years ago to help fund research for a particular kind of kidney disease, glomerular kidney disease. His two and a half year old son Christian suffers from a type of that disease, Nephrotic Syndrome.
Seattle International Raceway in Kent (off Highway 18) has agreed to donate to the foundation $.60 on every dollar brought in at the gate of the Washington State Motocross Championship to be held Sunday, Sept. 23. All motocross enthusiasts are encouraged to attend.
It is interesting to know that the NephCure Foundation is fighting the same diseases that both Alonzo Mourning of the Miami Heat and Sean Elliott of the Spurs have.
