Day of Caring held at Children's Country Home
On Sept. 14, the tenth annual Day of Caring, volunteers from Microsoft Inc. hoed, weeded and mulched at Children's Country Home in Woodinville. The home provides care for medically fragile children. Besides weeding and spreading bark in the home's yard, volunteers, on their own initiative, built a brick-lined pathway to a bench that they had purchased and installed. Every year United Way of King County kicks off its giving campaign with a Day of Caring for volunteers to work at non-profit social service agencies around King County.
