Candidates forum
   At their Tuesday, Oct. 2, meeting, at 12 noon at the Duvall Fire Hall, the Duvall Chamber of Commerce will hold a candidates forum. The public is invited to join members to hear from candidates for the following positions: King County executive; King County Council, Position 3; Duvall mayor; Duvall City Council and Riverview District Board.
  
   Family Fun Night
   Come experience a night of magic, music and comedy with Professor Gizmo on Friday, Sept. 28, from 6:30-8 p.m., in the Stillwater Elementary gymnasium. Enjoy free family entertainment and activities. Root beer float sales will benefit Teens Acting For Tomorrow. This is a family event and parents are required to attend and supervise their children. Friday Fun Night is sponsored by Children's Services of Sno-Valley, Teens Acting For Tomorrow and King County Parks & Recreation.
  
   Infant/Toddler singing & signing
   Based on the book, Sign With Your Baby, this five-week parent/child class teaches techniques for enhancing your child's communication skills through singing and signing. The cost of the class is $50 and parents receive the book Sign With Your Baby, a sign language chart, an instructional video and a music CD that will allow you to practice class exercises at home. The class will be held Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. at the Duvall Fire Station, beginning Oct. 17. Space is limited, so please call Children's Services of Sno-Valley at (425) 788-7924 to register. Scholarships are available.
  
   Jews for Jesus concert
   A Jews for Jesus music group will present a free concert at The Duvall Church, Main and Stella, on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. "The Liberated Wailing Wall" will be singing and telling the Jews for Jesus story in Duvall.
  
   Straw Into Gold at Pumps & Grinds
   On Saturday, Sept. 29, at 8 p.m., Straw Into Gold will celebrate a new CD release at Pumps & Grinds. This band hs been performing music of heart and hearth in the Pacific Northwest since 1993. Their repertoire ranges from traditional folk music about weaving, to arrangements of contemporary folk songs, to chorale-like spirituals. Straw Into Gold performs both a cappella and with its own instrumental accompaniment of harp, autoharp, fiddle, guitar, piano and hand drum. Pumps & Grinds is located at 15614 Main St., Duvall.    Prenatal partners workshop at Two Rivers Yoga
   A prenatal partners workshop will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, from 7-9 p.m., at Two Rivers Yoga in Carnation. Come for a fun evening of yoga for pregnant women and their partners. Couples will learn poses that strengthen specific muscles and to relax and work together. No previous yoga experience necessary. $30 per couple.    Girls Scouts to celebrate camp's 50th
   Join Girl Scouts young and old on Saturday, Oct. 6, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Camp River Ranch in Carnation. The day's festivities begin at 10 a.m. and include a Historical Walk Through Time, a camp scavenger hunt, games, the unveiling of a time capsule and a gigantic campfire. Former campers are invited back to reminisce and learn about the exciting future improvements planned for the camp. The 50th Anniversary Committee is also looking for pictures, stories and artifacts to put on display.
