DUVALL - Singer/songwriters Reilly and Maloney open the Duvall Arts Commission's 2001-2002 Arts Onstage season on Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. with their "Together Again" concert.
For 20 years, Ginny Reilly and David Maloney played to packed houses in Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area and all points in between. The old Silver Spoon restaurant in Duvall was a regular stop on their circuit, and Duvall welcomes the return of this endearing duo.
Although their early success derived from their connection to the popular folk music of the '60s, it was the distinctive blend of Ginny's sweet voice and David's fine tenor, their ability to blend the best of other songwriters' material with their own talent for crafting songs and David's fine accompaniment and arrangements that separated them from the rest of the folk scene pack in the '70s.
After a career that included sharing stages with Judy Collins, Tom Paxton and Greg Brown, the creation of seven vinyl LPs, and more than 3,000 performances together, Ginny and David called it quits, returning to their separate lives to raise children and broaden their musical interests.
The current "Together Again" concerts started with a few performances this summer. Ginny and David aren't calling it a reunion but rather a celebration of a lifelong friendship with new and old songs made richer by the growth and maturity 30 years of music brings to a stage.
