Obituary: Elsa Elizabeth Gordon

   Elsa Gordon, Kingston Wash., died Sept. 30 at her home on Port Gamble/Suquamish Road. She was 90.
   She was born May 16, 1911, in the logging town of Kerriston, near the present day Preston, Wash., to Jacob and Susanna Lahti.
   Her mother died when Elsa was 12 years old and she was then raised by her sister, Ellen Lortie.
   She married Charles Maurice Gordon March 10, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1968.
   Elsa worked for Frederick and Nelson in Seattle and Bellevue for many years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and sewing and was a member of Kingston Garden Club.
   She also enjoyed traveling with senior groups, trips to Mexico, attending ballet performances and a cruise through the Panama Canal in recent years.
   She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Walt) Miller of Kingston, son Charles (Elaine) of Priest River, Idaho, son Michael of Port Angeles, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   At her request there will be no public memorial service. Arrangements are by The Stone Chapel of Poulsbo.
