Local farms offer October school tours

Farm LLC is offering two fun and educational school field trip programs in October - a visit to the Pumpkin Farm for preschool through third grade and a trip to the Farming Corn Maze for students in second grade and older.
   Pumpkin Farm Tours are available for preschool through third graders through Oct. 31, Mondays -Fridays, at the Living Legacy Community Ranch and the Root Connection Farm, 13651 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. Students will meet the farm animals, learn about life on this working farm and pick a pumpkin from the field. Cost is $5/student (adults free), and includes animal area, farm/nature class, corn stalk maze, and pumpkin.
   Corn Maze is for students in the second grade and up. It is available Mondays - Wednesdays through Oct. 31, at The South 47 Farm, 15410 NE 124th St.
   Students can explore the 5 1/2-acre corn maze and learn how farmers use sun, soil and water to grow food. They'll also meet the farm animals and, if desired, pick a pumpkin from the field.
   Cost is $5/student (adults free) including a pumpkin, or $3.50 per student without, and includes corn maze, animal area and farm/nature class.
