An adult day center is greatly needed

I passionately urge everyone to vote "yes" on Nov. 6 for the Northshore Adult Day Center. Adults who are isolated with chronic pain need constant care.
Companionship often eases that pain. Seniors who are frail and disabled also need continuous attention and benefit from gathering with others.
My heart goes out to the caregivers who are struggling to keep their loved ones at home without a respite, even for a few hours. This is a 24-hour-a-day job with little or no help available. An adult day center is greatly needed a place your mother, father, husband or wife can be carefully transported to where you know they will be safe and well taken care of by professionals.
The return for $6 a year isbased on assessed value of $200,000, less than half the price of one meal out. The new center will help reduce the high cost of health and long-term care by enabling the patient to stay at home.
Equipment and operating expenses for the day center will be covered by fees, grants and fund raising projects. There will also be space for community residents who need a place for events and meetings. Please vote yes for the Northshore Adult Day Center.
