New program for parents and young children in Carnation

Parents of babies, toddlers and children in the Carnation area are invited to join a new group. PYCES, which stands for Parents & Young Children - Education & Support, is now forming a weekly program for parents and young children, birth through early school age, at Tolt Congregational United Church of Christ.
The program includes a combination of playgroup and parent discussion, giving both children and adults a chance to enjoy time with friends. The hour-and-a-half sessions will include active play, art experiences, and music; as well as discussion time for parents. Parents (or grandparents, aunts, uncles and other caregivers) will enjoy a chance to share experiences, discuss child development and behavior, and nurture their spirituality through devotional or scripture reading and prayer. Parents whose children are in school are invited to attend for the fellowship and discussion, as well.
The group will meet on Monday and Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00, at Tolt Congregational United Church of Christ, the stone church at 4851 Tolt Ave. (Hwy. 203), Carnation. All parents in the community are invited to attend either one or both days per week, at no charge.
PYCES is led by Barbara Greenstreet, Early Childhood Specialist and Parenting Educator. Interested parents can contact Barbara at (425)788-3696, or e-mail greenstreetfarm@juno.com for further information.
