Woodinville runners qualify for cross-country championships

Kayla Schick and Cameron Albertson, both Hollywood Hill Elementary 5th graders, recently qualified to participate in the Dec. 8 USATF National Jr. Olympic Cross-Country Championships to be held in Lincoln, Nebraska.
   Kayla Schick finished the 3000m course in Sandy, Ore. in 10th place with a time of 13:13 and led her Cascade Striders Team to a first place team finish at the USATF Region 13 Jr. Olympic Cross-Country Championships.
   Cameron Albertson finished the 3000m course in a time of 12:59 placing 22nd overall. His team placed 2nd and will participate at Nationals.The USATF National Junior Olympic Championships represent 15 regions from across the United States with age divisions from 10- 18 years old.
