Not a dog's day in the Miami sun

Woodinville's Zach Tuiasosopo's hit on Miami quarterback Derrick Crudup was on of the few bright spots for the University of Washington Huskies Saturday, Nov. 24, when they were beaten by #1 ranked Miami Hurricanes.
The Huskies traveled to Miami on Thanksgiving and stayed at the Sonesta Resort on Key Biscayne.
On Saturday night they played before a crowd of 78,000 mostly Miami fans at the Orange Bowl.
The Hurricanes were in a revenge state of mind. The Huskies have won both of the previous meetings between the two schools including last year's 34-26 win in which Zach's brother, Marques, led the Dawgs to their second win over Miami.
Zach's play as a redshirt freshman improved to the level that he started five games for the Huskies this season. His playing time in every game ha given him experience that should make him a leader on next year's team.
   Post-season play
Tuiasosopo and the Huskies (8-3) were selected to play in the San Diego Holiday Bowl Dec. 28 against a Big 12 team, probably either Oklahoma or Colorado.
