DUVALL - The city of Duvall and the Chamber of Commerce will host this year's annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the west end of Stephens Street.
Activities begin at 4 p.m. with people invited on a hay ride in pickup trucks to carol throughout the city. Bring flashlights and meet at the Duvall Church. At 5 p.m. Santa and the caroling trucks will form a parade and depart from the Duvall Fire Department along Main Street, ending up at the Holiday Tree.
At 5:30 p.m. the tree will be lit along with singing and a bonfire in the parking lot of McCormick Park. Attendees are asked to park their cars in an alternate location to leave room for the festivities.Participants can enjoy hot cider and goodies while listening to holiday music and taking hay rides (the real deal with horse and wagon) along the river trail, Many local businesses will be open until 8 p.m. for holiday shopping.
The city and chamber are especially grateful to True Value Hardware for providing the lights for the tree and to PSE for their helpful volunteers who decorated the tree and provided boom trucks and operators, and to the Cedarcrest High School Horticulture Club for making the holiday wreaths and decorations.
