Obituary: Charles (Chuck) F. Eberhart

Chuck Eberhart, 80, passed away suddenly Dec. 6.
   Born in Steubenville, Ohio, Chuck graduated from Steubenville High School in 1939 and then moved to California and joined the Navy in 1942.
   He graduated from naval air training at Corpus Christi, Texas, in May 1944 and was stationed in Manila, Philippines. As a transport pilot in the South Pacific, he flew supplies and wounded servicemen.
   He retired as a lieutenant commander in 1963 and moved to Woodinville in 1957. He then left the area for a number of years and returned in 1969.
   Chuck was active in the community and organized the job clinic in Bothell in 1969 and later helped found the first multi-service center in Woodinville.
   He later became an associate broker for Cottage Realty and served as president of East Kingco Rock Club.
   Instrumental in bringing the library to Woodinville, he also worked with the community and county to acquire Cottage Lake Park and develop it.
   He served on the Cottage Lake Community Action Council which ultimately became the Upper Bear Creek Community Council.
   He attended the Northwest Presbyterian Church.
   Chuck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; sons, Marshall and Robert; and daughter Lari.
