Yellow plates must be replaced

If your car still sports yellow and green vanity plates, it's time to pick up the new models. But the personalized message is still yours to keep and can be transferred to the red, white and blue "mountain" plates issued by the state.
The cost of replacement plates is $7 per set.
Police officers may issue warnings to motorists with yellow license plates and will report the plate to the DOL for follow-up. Officers may issue a citation if they spot the plate again. For information on license plate replacement or how to find a local licensing services office, visit the DOL Web site at www.wa.gov/dol or call (360) 902-3770.
