Sing-a-long at 5th Avenue

The original 1965 hit movie "The Sound of Music" returns to The 5th Avenue Theatre Thursday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. The cinematic phenomenon, Sing-A-Long Sound of Music is a 3 1/2 hour event that includes pre- and post-show festivities, a best costume contest and non-stop silly film fun. Reserved tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and younger. Call Ticketmaster at (206) 292-ARTS or visit www.ticketmaster.com.    Watch The Sound of Music, original in every way except that all the song lyrics appear subtitled on the 5ht Avenue's big screen. Viewers sing along with unabashed enthusiasm. Moviegoers receive an official "fun pack," filled with interactive props. Emcee Guy Farris of Northwest Cable News leads a vocal warm up, oversees the costume contest and clues you in on the Sing-A-Long's signature jeers and cheers.
