Eastside programs survive county budget process

Amid millions of dollars of cuts in the 2002 King County budget, funding for several Eastside human services and environmental programs was retained, said Councilmember Dave Irons recently.
   Funding will be available for the following Valley programs: Elder Friends, King County, $16,500; Sno-Valley Senior Center, Carnation, $8,000; Friends of Youth for Snoqualmie Valley Youth Center, North Bend, $16,256; Friends of the Trail, North Bend, $50,000; retired passenger van program, which donates two vans in each council district to organizations that address the needs of low-income, elderly, disabled and youth; Fall City Wastewater AssessmentProject, $150,000.
