Diversity Week 2002 at LWTC

Lake Washington Technical College (LWTC) is hosting its annual Diversity Week from Jan. 22-25.
   Activities will include a performance by the Heng Da Dance Academy at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the East Building. At noon in the LWTC auditorium, guest speaker Albert Mensah will give a presentation on Diversity, Change and Tolerance.
   At 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 23, ShowBrazil! will demonstrate contemporary Brazilian music and dance.
   On Thursday, Jan. 24, Living Voices will present "Within The Silence," a film and live theater performance that chronicles Japanese internment during World War II.
   Three presentations will run between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
   On Friday, Jan. 25, LWTC presents its Diversity Fair at noon in the East Building.
   King County Executive Ron Sims will make opening remarks, the culinary arts program will offer an international buffet and students will share traditions of their heritage through costume, dance, music and art.
   Lake Washington Technical College is located at 11605 132nd Ave. N.E. in Kirkland and the parking is free.
