Going Out: Bullrider's Challenge 2002

The Bullrider's Challenge 2002 will take place on Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19 with doors opening at 6 p.m. and show starting at 8 p.m. at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
   Each night, you will see the challenge of 30 of the top bulls provided by Gold Buckle Rodeo Co. squaring off against 30 of the top professional bull riders from all over the Northwest in competition for a total purse of over $10,000. One lucky bull rider will draw a chance to win an extra $1,000 for having a full 8 second ride on the Bounty Bull. In addition to this show, you will see Invitational Bronc riding, barrel racing and of course, the crazy clowns wil be there to protect the riders and entertain the crowd with lots of surprises. It's a family event which includes free pony rides starting at 6 p.m., and young cowhands weighing in at 60 lbs or less will have the chance to compete in the ever-popular "mutton bustin'" event.
   Tickets are $10; children under 6 are free. Tickets are available through Beth West Western Wear in Bothell, Monroe Farm and Feed, Gerry Andal's Auto Ranch in Everett, and at the door on the night of the event.
