UW-Bothell to host three-part series, 'Stimulating Growth in Today's Marketplace'
The University of Washington- Bothell will be hosting a three-part speaking series on "Stimulating Growth in Today's Marketplace." The series will address some of the challenges now facing the technology industry in the Puget Sound region. The first talk of the series, titled, "Setting the Stage For Innovation," will be given by Alan Cooper, chairman of Interaction Design and the "Father of Visual Basic," on Wednesday, Jan 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the University of Washington, Bothell. The second talk will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27. This, second-in-the-series address, will cover the "rules of the game" in today's sagging economy, such as market conditions, knowledge preservation in the wake of layoffs, lack of IT budgets and adjusting to today's security concerns.
The third talk, which will be held on Wednesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. will build on the first two and discuss companies that have successfully set up innovative organizations and are prospering in today's volatile market.
