Friends of Cherry Valley still fighting Duvall quarry

Friends of Cherry Valley are still vigorously opposing the proposed Duvall Rock Quarry.
For the past two years, the permit was on hold pending payments to King County and the signing of a contract to start the Environmental Impact Studies.
The quarry proponents have now signed the contract and paid the monies due the county, including $150,000 down payment on the EIS.
Friends of Cherry Valley are holding a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 at the Cherry Valley Community Club on Kelly Road.
Everyone is invited to attend the meeting.
"There are many developments of which the community should be made aware so this will be an extremely important meeting," said Clarise Mahler, President of Friends of Cherry Valley. "Anyone who has an interest in the Duvall quarry will not want to miss this."
