State of the City Address encourages community involvement

WOODINVILLE - Woodinville City Manager Pete Rose presented his annual State of the City Address to the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce membership on Thursday, Jan. 17.
Rose highlighted major accomplishments from 2001 and encouraged local businesses to become involved in the important planning processes the city is undertaking this year.
"This year's theme is Your Future Growing Here," Rose told Chamber members present at the monthly luncheon held at Chateau Ste. Michelle. "Turn on, tune in and stay informed," encouraged Rose. "We need to draw in citizens to ensure our planning processes reflect a good cross-section of the Woodinville community."
Opportunities to shape Woodinville's future include the Comprehensive Plan Update, Downtown Master Plan, Little Bear Creek Corridor Study, Little Bear Creek Lineal Park Study, Civic Center Master Plan, Streetscape Master Plan and the Capital Improvement Plan.
Rose highlighted last year's accomplishments, which include: opening the new City Hall building; completing road improvement projects including Northeast 175th Street/140th Avenue Northeast, 124th Avenue Northeast, traffic signal at Northeast 200th and Woodinville-Snohomish Road and street overlays; acquisition of anchor property for the Little Bear Creek Lineal Park and skate park; and increase in public works maintenance service.
