Local scout leader to be honored

In recognition of his service to youth, Mike Kelly has been selected by the Chief Seattle Council as the newest North Lakes District Silver Beaver recipient. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a council can bestow.
Kelly has a long association with scouting and is currently registered on the Boy Scout Troop 420 Committee, and serves as the North Lakes District Commissioner.
He is president of the Washington State Association of Metal Finishers and serves on the National Association Board of directors and the Executive Committee.
He and wife Sandy have four children, all of whom are or have been active in scouting. The award will be presented at the Chief Seattle Council annual dinner at the Meydenbauer Center on March 19.
