Bothell man is champ

MONROE - Ron Cox of Bothell had never won an indoor racing championship at Monroe, but that changed Jan. 5 when Cox, a regular season sprint car driver at Deming Speedway, took the Indoor Season Championship at Monroe. He began his racing career in 1987
The kart he drives was purchased in 1989. Taking eight Oakwood kart championships with this machine, Cox said, "I own two karts now and have had several over the years. This one just feels right, never sell the ones that work."
Other than the steel frame and the four bolts that secure the brake rotor, all parts are aluminum including the brake rotor. With the rear axle and steering wheel shafts cut to exact lengths, Cox has even drilled holes in the steering wheel to shave weight.
