DUVALL-The first annual Cedarcrest Drill Team Clinic on Jan. 5 was a huge success, based on the eager participation by 80 junior drillers from grades kindergarten through eight.
The three-hour clinic on Saturday was followed by a 45-minute after- school practice on Jan. 10, in preparation for a live performance at the high school boys' basketball game on Jan. 11.
The Cedarcrest gymnasium was packed that Friday evening for the spectacular half-time performance as the drillers brought down the house. This was a unique opportunity for the junior drillers to showcase their talents by performing with the high school drill team.
The roaring applause amidst countless flashing cameras was matched only by the proud beaming smiles on the faces of the grown-ups and the performers.
This was an outstanding way for the Cedarcrest Drill Team to promote school and community spirit while raising the much-needed funds for the team.
A snack break, a "Cedarcrest Drill Clinic 2002" T-shirt and a pair of mini-pompoms were included in the clinic fee.
