Woodinville violinist to make solo debut

Jaime Marcello, 15, of Woodinville won the first prize at the 2001 Northwest Sinfonietta Youth Concerto Competition in Tacoma.
   As a result of winning the competition, Marcello will perform as soloist with the Northwest Sinfonietta under the direction of Conductor Christophe Chagnard on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at the Rialto Theater in Tacoma.
   Marcello recently won the MTNA Washington State Junior Violin Competition and was selected 1st alternate at the MTNA Northwest Division Competition. He was a finalist in the 2001 Seattle Young Artists Music Festival Concerto Competition and was awarded a Seal of Outstanding Achievement.
   He attends the Northshore Home School Network Program, is a member of the Woodinville High School orchestra and attends the Music Institute of Chicago in Winnetka, Ill.
   He previously attended the Vancouver Academy of Music in Vancouver, B.C., and the Seattle Conservatory of Music.
