Obituary: Glenn Edgar Ross Sr.

Glenn Edgar Ross Sr. died Feb. 10 at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland while surrounded by family. He was born in Seattle on April 3, 1915, where he met his loving wife Phyllis for the first time in 1920 in kindergarten class at Whitworth Elementary School. In 1933, while they were seniors in high school, they eloped. In order to graduate from high school they had to keep their marriage a secret. They graduated from Franklin High School in 1934.
They lived in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle before moving to Woodinville 21 years later.
Glenn worked at the Olympic Hotel for 23 years, advancing to executive assistant manager. Then he managed the Fourth and Pike Building for two years after leaving the hotel in 1959.
After their children were grown, the couple represented a European importer in 11 western states. They truly enjoyed working and traveling together before retiring in 1982.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Glennis Neslin and Phyllis Berglund; and son Glenn Ross Jr. He also had nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
It is the family's request that memorials be made to Evergreen Hospice.
