Literary Lions Award winner announced

The Verizon Reads program, will be honored at the ninth annual King County Library System Foundation's Literary Lions Dinner Saturday, March 9, at the Bellevue Regional Library for its efforts to support literacy .
   Author Charles Johnson (Middle Passage, Dreamer, Oxherding Tale, and Being and Race) will be the keynote speaker at the event. Johnson is the Pollock Professor of Humanities at the University of Washington.
   The sit-down dinner will also feature a benefit book sale with titles by the 30 guest authors in attendance. Proceeds from the Literary Lions Dinner support KCLS literacy and outreach programs.
