Northshore seniors named National Merit Finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Foundation has named 12 Northshore seniors as National Merit Finalists. Finalists represent fewer than one-half of one percent of each state's graduating class.
The finalist from Bothell High School is:
Meagan Reed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Reed, of Bothell.
Those named from Inglemoor High School are:
Matthew Anderson, son of Lauren and Stephen Anderson, Bothell; Lance Belka, son of Cindy and Brian Belka, Redmond; Melinda Chism, daughter of Barbara and Geoffrey Chism, Kenmore; Michael Cordray, son of Barbara and Richard Cordray, Redmond; Kimberly Kelsey, daughter of Lisa and William Kelsey, Kenmore; Rebekah Levin, daughter of Colleen and Arnold Levin, Redmond; Nicolas Newcomb, son of Christine and Philip Newcomb, Redmond; Rachael Ockwell, daughter of Shelley and John Ockwell, Brier; Meru Sadhu, son of Krishna and Chanchal Sadhu, Bothell.
The finalists from Woodinville High School are:
Brian Ritchie, son of David and Betsy Richie, Woodinville; Katie Rivard, daughter of Marcel and Pamela Rivard, Woodinville.
Across the nation, the Foundation designated about 14,000 Finalists from among the Semifinalists named last September. These students now compete for some 7,000 National Merit Scholarships to be awarded this spring.
Even if the Finalists do not receive a National Merit Scholarship, they often receive scholarship offers from other sources because of their standing as National Merit Finalists.
