Senior to Senior Peer Support volunteers needed
Senior to Senior Peer Support announces its winter volunteer training session. If you are 55 years or older, and interested in helping other older adults who need emotional support, this is the volunteer opportunity for you!
At a time when many of their family and friends are gone, seniors sometimes find themselves unable to cope with the many changes in their lives. These older adults may not require professional counseling, but do respond well to another senior who has had similar experiences. Senior to Senior recognizes the importance of peer relationships.
Our training program and your innate wisdom gives you the skills to work one to one with a person who is having problems coping with difficult life situations. You can join at anytime. Minorities are encouraged to apply. If you are interested in attending our training program, or just want more information, please call Joanne Halverson at (425) 349-8256.
Senior to Senior Peer Support is cosponsored by Snohomish County Division of Long-Term Care and Aging and Compass Health and has been helping people in our community for twelve years.
Compass Health, a nonprofit agency, has been serving children, families and adults in northwest Washington since its origins as Luther Child Center in 1901. For more information about Compass Health and the services it offers, visit www.compasshealth.org .
