CCC president honored by AAUW

The Bothell-Shoreline Branch of the The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will present their Outstanding Woman of the Community Award March 16 at the Bothell Library to Dr. Victoria Munoz Richart, president of the Cascadia Community College of Bothell.
Richart is an educational pioneer and because of her design of the college's original curriculum and organizational structures, Cascadia was chosen as a Vanguard Learning College from the League for Innovation in Community Colleges.
She was nominated for this award by Rep. Jeanne Edwards. " Dr. Richart is well-deserving of this prestigious award,"   Edwards said. "Dr. Richart's skills as a leader, visionary and pioneer in developing a curriculum with an emphasis on workforce skill acquisition has been an asset to students from nearby Northshore, Riverview and Lake Washington school districts and to the business community.  The students gain valuable employment skills that are tailored to meet the needs of local companies, creating a positive outcome for everyone. "
The award honors a woman from Lake Forest Park, Shoreline, Kenmore or Bothell who has made outstanding achievements.
