Club plants rose for International Women's Day
Friday, March 8, was International Women's Day. The Zonta Club of Everett commemorated the day by planting a yellow rose bush in the arboretum at Legion Memorial Park.
The yellow rose is the official flower of Zonta, an international service organization, and the bush was planted to honor all those women in the community who have served others.
Individual women honored for their service to the community were recognized and presented with yellow roses.
The recipients this year include: Janelle Scrignoli, Carol Stuchell, Idamae Schack, Connie Niva, Barbara George, Barb Yates, Carol Nelson, Cathy Reese, Mary Duryee, Ruth Precht, Debra Knutson.
