Open house highlights designs for replacing Tolt Bridge
The King County Department of Transportation will host a drop-in open house to gather comments on initial designs for replacing the Tolt Bridge near Carnation on Thursday, April 4, 5-7 p.m. in the Carnation City Hall council chambers, 4621 Tolt Avenue.
The Tolt Bridge, originally constructed in 1922, is now in a generally deteriorated condition, and was temporary closed in 1993 for emergency repairs. Currently, the bridge is posted for one legal load at a time with weight limits.
Due to its age, its safety deficiencies, and increasing cost of maintenance, the Department of Transportation is proposing to remove the existing bridge and its approaches and to construct a replacement superstructure on a new alignment.
The project is currently in the design phase. The public is invited to review and comment on the initial project design. For information, call Patrick Duhon at (206) 263-3424, or e-mail email@example.com.
