'Joy of Spring' at Molbak's

WOODINVILLE Spring has finally arrived, and Molbak's is commemorating the season with its first Spring Celebration on the weekends of April 13-14, 20-21.
During the Spring Celebration, events are planned to attract both food and garden lovers.
Chefs Kaspar Donier of Kaspar's, John Neumark of Serafina, Felix Acosta of Yarrow Bay Grill, and John Howie of Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar will offer instruction throughout the festivities on a wide variety of culinary topics, including using herbs in spring dishes such as steamed Alaskan halibut with salsa verde, eight-herb spaetzle, and portabella and tomato salad. To further whet the palate, Renee Shepherd is speaking on gourmet gardening and cooking with herbs.
Horticulturist and author of "Bold Visions for the Garden," Richard Hartlage will share growing and design tips for the summer garden.
To learn more about mulch, manure and mud, KIRO radio personality, Ciscoe Morris will reveal how to build healthy soil for healthy plants.
Other garden seminar topics include natural lawn care, growing roses and summer bulbs for the garden.
With the purchase of the Thermo-lite container and plants, on-site experts will help customers design the container.
Also, kids will be invited to plant a container with seeds to take home and watch them grow.
On display throughout the festivities is the 2002 Great Plant Picks exhibit, a new plant awards program designed to help the home gardener identify unbeatable plants for their Pacific Northwest garden.
