Northshore seniors named Washington Scholars
Four Northshore School District seniors have been selected as Washington Scholars. They are:
Inglemoor High School Kristopher Day, son of Tracy and Robin Day of Kirkland; Teja Dyamenahalli, daughter of Umesh and Shashi Dyamenahalli of Kenmore.
Woodinville High School Brian Ritchie, son of David and Betsy Ritchie of Woodinville; Kathryn Rivard, daughter of Marcel and Patty Rivard of Woodinville.
The Washington Scholars Program was established by the State Legislature in 1981 to designate 147 graduating seniors annually statewide, three from each legislative district, for academic achievement, leadership and community service. Washington Scholars may receive a state grant to assist with educational costs.
To qualify for the grant, a Scholar must enter a college or university in Washington state within three years of high school graduation and maintain a 3.30 grade point average.
