Seattle Baroque Orchestra performs 'Bach Doubles' in Duvall

DUVALL On April 21, at 2 p.m., the Seattle Baroque Orchestra (SBO) performs a concert of Bach's famous concertos for two solo instruments and string orchestra. This final program in the 2001-2002 Arts Onstage season features the Bach concerto in D Minor for two violins, the concerto in C Minor for violin and oboe and the concerto in C Major for two harpsichords. Complementing these three well-known works are works composed by Bach's two musical sons, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach.
The Seattle Baroque Orchestra is devoted to the performance of music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Through live performances, radio broadcasts, recordings and educational programs, its aim is to bring new life to Baroque and Classical music and to awaken contemporary audiences to its vitality and relevance in our own time. This special "pay-what-you-will" presentation is part of the King County Performance Network and is funded by the King County Arts Commission and the Washington State Arts Commission. The program is preceded by a free pre-concert lecture.
