Woodinville Garden Club announces spring plant sale

Woodinville Garden Club will hold its annual public plant sale the day before Mother's Day, Saturday, May 11, at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville.
Plants at the sale will include old favorites plus both common and uncommon annuals and perennials.
Several varieties of tomato plants and selections of geraniums, New Guinea impatiens and herbs will be available for purchase.
For colorful growth that can enhance a patio or deck, two types of hanging garden baskets are planted for either sun or shade, and decorative flower tins and patio salad bowls are available.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery is located at 14111 NE 145th St. in Woodinville.
The one-day sale is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Club members will be available to offer expert assistance to plant sale visitors who want advice about their selection of plants.
Woodinville Garden Club's fundraising events support community beautification and educational activities with an emphasis on horticulture. Thanks to the support of the local gardening community, recent gifts include contributions to Seattle's Chinese Garden, the Center for Urban Horticulture's Miller Library and the Washington Park Arboretum Foundation's educational program, a major contribution to the Woodinville Gateway Project, horticulture workshops, a contribution to the Cottage Lake Elementary School garden project, annual contributions to the Bellevue Botanical Garden and the World Gardening Organization and seasonal planting at the Woodinville Library and the Franciscan Health Care Center. The club membership also made a major donation to Woodinville's Jerry Wilmot Park.
