Miller to be honored for achievements in conservation

Louise Miller was among those honored on Tuesday, May 14, at Cascade Land Conservancy's annual Conservation Awards Breakfast. The award winners represent a broad spectrum of innovation and excellence in support of our region's natural environment.
   Doug Sutherland, Washington's Commissioner of Public Lands, delivered the keynote remarks. He discussed the importance of preserving forestland on the fringe of urban areas and the public/private partnerships that are leading the way.
   Since 1989, Cascade Land Conservancy has preserved nearly 9,000 acres of land for the benefit of our communities and wildlife.
   CLC works with property owners, organizations and public agencies to preserve landscapes and ecosystems in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
