More than 25 million Americans suffer from osteoporosis. Although most people think of osteoporosis as an old women's disease, more men are diagnosed with osteoporosis with prostate cancer. After age 35, both men's and women's bones may break down faster than they form, but there is a simple screening to determine bone mineral density, and early detection, lifestyle change and new therapies are making osteoporosis preventable and treatable.
The screening involves a low-dose X-ray scan of your forearm which takes less than four minutes. You receive a full color report and interpretation of your test results immediately, as well as the latest information on how to prevent and reverse bone loss.
Lake Washington Technical College is located at 11605 132nd Avenue NE, Kirkland, and parking is free.
