Introduction to the World Wide Web
This is a hands-on class for people who are beginners on the World Wide Web. Learn about a browser, type web addresses and get web pages, click links, and navigate pages and sites. Sign up for one of the classes below, and learn how to use the Web. Thursday, June 6, 6:30-8 p.m.; Saturday June 22, 10-11:30 a.m.
Search the World Wide Web (Advanced)
Not for beginners. Prerequisite: Intro to the WWW class or previous experience searching the web. Learn the types of search tools and how to choose an appropriate one for a particular type of search. Learn how to write a search query to produce useful results. Wednesday June 19, 7-8:30 p.m.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel
This class is for beginners. Excel is a spreadsheet program with multiple columns and rows that allows for you to create tables and perform calculations. Learn how to edit an Excel worksheet, select and edit cells, use formulas and tabulate data. Sign up for one of the classes below and learn how to use Excel. Tuesday, June 4, 1-3 p.m.; Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Introduction to Microsoft Word
This is a hands-on class for beginning users of Microsoft Word. Learn how to create a document, change the look of the text, change the layout of documents, use menus and toolbars, save your document, and print. Tuesday, June 4, 10 a.m.-noon; Tuesday June 18, 6:30-8 p.m.
Classes are free. Register in advance at 788-0733. Class are small with waiting lists, so please call to cancel.
