Edvalson resigns as Carnation city manager
CARNATION—At last week's meeting, the City Council accepted the resignation of City Manager Woody Edvalson.
"I and the other members of the Carnation City Council thank Mr. Edvalson for his time of service in Carnation, first as city administrator and most recently as Carnation's first city manager," Mayor Stuart Lisk said. "We wish him many future successes and opportunities."
City Finance Director Richard Gould has agreed to accept an interim appointment until a permanent successor to Mr. Edvalson is selected for the position. Efforts at recruitment of a new city manager will begin immediately.
Edvalson served for one year as the city's administrator before the city's change to the council/manager plan of government in the fall of 1999. He was then appointed as the city's first city manager.
