King County Fair features country/western theme July 17-21

The 2002 King County Fair in Enumclaw will open July 17 at noon with the annual Critter Crowning Contest and continue through July 21. The Fair features old-fashioned fun and traditional fair entertainment and atmosphere.
   Heading up the entertainment this year are music artists Martina McBride, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Tower of Power, 4Him and Sons of the San Joaquin, a loggers' competition and an old-style, western-themed melodrama, "The Holstein Swindle," performed twice daily by actors in 19th Century period costumes. All music performances are free with admission to the Fair.
   Special days at the Fair
   Senior Day, Wednesday, July 17, features free admission and Safeway breakfast (8-10 a.m.) for those 62 and over.
   All carnival rides are $1 each on Wednesday, July 17, and Friday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
   Kids Day is Thursday, July 18. Children 15 and under will be admitted free.
   Unlimited Rides Days are set for Thursday, July 18, and Sunday, July 21, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On these days, $15 plus tax buys 11 game tickets.
   Family Day will be held Sunday, July 21 when two adults and two children (or one adult and three children) are admitted for $15.
   Friday, July 19, will be King Pickle Contest Day when fairgoers dressed as pickles are admitted free between 10 a.m. and noon.
   PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) Rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday nights, July 19-20, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets ($5/$3) are in addition to Fair admission.
