Ashley Dowden of Duvall to perform at Seattle Children's Theatre
Ashley Dowden, 16, from Duvall, will perform in the Improv Olympics scheduled for Aug. 1, 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. at the Seattle Children's Theatre.
The Improv Olympics is an improvisational parody that follows the fortunes of an unlikely Olympic team through tryouts, training and competition.
Dowden is one of 140 local students from grades 4 through 12 accepted for the theatre's Summer Season Drama School. After an intensive rehearsal period, these students perform using professional costumes, sets, props, sound and lights created by SCT's production staff.
Summer Season 2002 is a great way for aspiring young actors and actresses to perform in front of an audience.
The performances run Thursdays through Sundays in SCT's Charlotte Martin and Eve Alford Theatres, located at 201 Thomas St. at Seattle Center. Tickets range in price from $5 to $11, a double feature (of two shows in one night) can be seen for $8. To purchase tickets, call (206) 441-3322.
