Volunteers needed for W-D Rd. community advisory group

The King County Road Services Division is now accepting applications from residents interested in serving on a community advisory group being formed to advise the county on future improvements to Northeast Woodinville-Duvall Road. Nine to 12 members will be selected to represent a broad cross-section of geographic locations, interest groups and community organizations.
Members will advise the Road Services Division as it conducts an environmental assessment of various potential improvements to the road. Members will attend seven to eight eetings (probably on Tuesdays) over the next 18 months, attend two community meetings and will assist in the review of all community comments.
The county will be reviewing several possible road improvements for Northeast Woodinville-Duvall Road between the city limits of Woodinville at 168th Avenue Northeast to approximately 350 feet west of Avondale Road.
Five alternatives (no build, intersection improvements, three lanes, four lanes and five lanes), as well as non-motorized treatments will be included in the review. The assessment, along with the selection of a preferred alternative, will be completed in late 2003 prior to the start of design work.
For additional information or to receive a copy of the application form, contact Barbara de Michele at (206) 263-3792.
Applications should be returned by Aug. 16. Requests can also be requested at barbara.demichele@metrokc.
