'An American Tradition' at Evergreen State Fair

The Evergreen State Fair opens Thursday, Aug. 22 and runs through Monday, Sept. 2, at the fairground one mile west of Monroe.
   Free activities at the Fair include Aztec Indian Dancers, contests, water duck races, concerts, equestrian events, fireworks (Aug. 22), pig races, lawn mower races (Aug. 26), petting farm, lumberjack show and the Jest in Time Circus Tent.
   Special days at the Fair:
   Aug. 22 Opening Day and Kids' Day. Kids 15 and under admitted free.
   Aug. 23 Senior Citizens' Day. Senior citizens 62+ admitted free.
   Aug. 24 Celebrate Our World Day. Monroe Fair Days Parade.
   Aug. 26 Patriotic Day. 1/2 price for emergency service personnel with I.D.
   Aug. 27 Twin Twosday. 2 for 1 twins, triplets, quadruplets or more with proper I.D.
   Aug. 28 Family Day. Special rates for families.
   Aug. 29 Kids' Day. Ages 15 and under are admitted free.
   Aug. 30 Armed Forces Day. 1/2 price with military I.D.
   Sept. 2 Last Chance Day. Half price admission for everyone.
   Concerts on the Grandstand Stage will feature Jaci Valasques (Aug. 25, limited free seating with fair admission), America (Aug. 26, limited free seating), Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Lawrence (Aug. 27), Foreigner (Aug. 28), Charlie Daniels (Aug. 29, limited free seating), Ashanti (Aug. 30).
