Joe Lorenz is new Eagle Scout
Joe Lorenz of Woodinville has been awarded Boy Scouting's highest rank - Eagle Scout.
He was presented by his father (also an Eagle Scout) and mother and a sister and members of Woodinville's BSA Troop 909 at the July 8 Court of Honor.
His Eagle Scout project was the addition of a 30' x 15' map of the United States to Wellington Elementary School's playground.
In addition to all 50 states, the map shows state capitals, major rivers and significant trails. This map took over 200 man hours to complete.
Lorenz is also very active in sports, has been on championship teams for two sports and has won several individual honors. He has traveled widely in the United States and Canada and is the youngest player to represent his hockey club for tournaments in the Czech Republic.
Lorenz will be entering 9th grade at Leota Junior High School this year.
