Cedarcrest High School freshman orientation set for Thursday, Aug. 22

Cedarcrest High School has set freshman orientation for all incoming 9th grade students for Thursday, Aug. 22.
The orientation program will start at 9:30 a.m. in the theater.
Students will pick up locator cards that have their schedules for the school year on them, and then go to the orientation which will introduce them to their principal, assistant principal and athletic director welcoming them to Cedarcrest and explaining the sports and school activities available to all students. Louis Bremond will provide the kickoff presentation.
Cedarcrest High School is initiating the "Ignite" program for the upcoming 2002-2003 school year.
This is a peer mentoring program for all incoming 9th grade students. Selected Cedarcrest students have had extended training this past spring and summer to be mentors.
Incoming 9th graders will meet their mentors at freshman orientation and will tour the building in small groups with them to see where their classrooms will be when school begins on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
The building will be open on the day of freshman orientation from 8-9:30 a.m. and again from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for parents to help students pay for student fees (pictures, ASB card, annuals, etc.).
Parents who plan to pay by check are advised to bring two checks (a separate check is required for picture plans). Questions about freshman orientation can be directed to the counseling office at Cedarcrest at (425) 844-4807.
