Art show reflects pastoral charm of Valley
As Duvall fights to retain its small town charm, the art show "Vanishing Duvall: hippies and cows" has opened at the Pumps and Grinds coffee shop.
Featuring the work of artist Elaine Lau in her first solo exhibition, the flowing figurative drawings and the pastel paintings of rural scenes suggest the delicate beauty of a pastoral Duvall.
Using perspective and color to convey mood, Elaine has created a collection of dramatic images in the style of what she calls Exaggerated Reality.
Particularly successful are the large cow pieces, "The Path" and "Night Milking."
The show closes September 12.
