WFLSD responds to house fire, cause under investigation
At 4:13 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, neighbors called 9-1-1 to report an explosion and fire at the 3700 block of 127th Ave. NE.
Multiple reports of flames showing were also called into 9-1-1. Units from Woodinville Fire & Life Safety (WFLSD) and Kirkland Fire were dispatched at 4:14 a.m.
Engine 27 of Kirkland Fire was first on scene at 4:21 a.m. and reported the upper floor of a split level home fully involved in fire. Due to heavy fire involvement, with fire through the roof, a defensive fire attack was initiated. Woodinville Engine 34 arrived at 4:22 a.m. and knocked the fire down using their deck gun.
The family who live in the home were on vacation at the time. They were contacted by phone and were to return home later in the day.
Engine 34 remained on scene until 9:44 a.m. assisting with the investigation and completing suppression activities. Cause of the fire is still under investigation by the King County Fire Investigation unit.
No one was injured, but the house and contents appeared to be a total loss. The loss is estimated at $350,000.
