2002 retired passenger vans

King County's Retired Passenger Van program allows the Council to donate used Metro vanpool vans each year to non-profit agencies in need of transportation serving the elderly, disabled, low-income and youth.
King County's Metro Transit Division sent out letters to a large list of non-profit agencies in late July encouraging them to apply for retired passenger vans through their respective council district office.
This year, there are a total of 13 vans in the 12-15 passenger size for distribution, or 1 van available for each council district to donate.
In past years, there have been a total of 26 vans or 2 vans per district for distribution but the number is smaller this year.
The deadline stated in the letter from the Transit Division for receiving applications is August 30th.
