Chateau Ste. Michelle hosts Festival of the Grape Sept. 8
Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery will host "Celebration of the Grape," a community festival to mark the start of the harvest season, Sunday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tastings of award-winning wines paired with hors d' oeuvres, live music, interactive wine education stations, a grape stomp, a wine aroma station, and an oak barrel station where guests can taste the same wine aged in different tpyes of oak barrels to discover oak's influence on wine will be featured.
History buffs can learn about the history of the winery grounds, orginally the site of the Stimson family estate dating back to 1912. In addition, Chateau Ste. Michelle culinary director John Sarich will sign copies of his latest cookbook "Entertaining Simply."
A $20 wine fee includes wine tasting, a souvenir glass and food samples. Chateau Ste. Michelle is located in Woodinville at 14111 NE 145th.
